Today I was feeling a little blue…just my eyes that is! If you a seeking a fun icy blue, shimmering look to your eye, then here it is and you can follow along in my step-by-step tutorial.
Products Used In This Tutorial:
- Pretty Vulgar’s – Uncaged Eyeshadow Primer
- Morphe – The James Charles Artistry Palette
- Morphe – 35I Icy Fantasy Artistry Palette
- P.Louise Acid Reign Cosmetic Paint – Blank Canvas
- Essence – Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara
- L’Oréal – Voluminous Original Mascara
- The Jeffree Star Eye Brush Collection
- DUO Brush On Adhesive Lash Glue
- Cosmetic Glitter (Amazon) I did not use the primer glue as I found it very difficult (and painful!) to remove so I highly recommend using the DUO adhesive listed above.
To get started, you will need two palettes for this eye makeup tutorial: Morphe’s The James Charles Artistry Palette and the 35I Icy Fantasy Artistry Palette. I selected the Artistry Palette Playground Blue color (circled on the left) and the 35I Cold Snap color (circled on the right).
But before using any eyeshadow, I start by applying Pretty Vulgar’s Uncaged Eyeshadow Primer to the entire eyelid. Primers enhance your eyeshadows by making them vibrant and long-wearing. I recommend applying and then waiting a minute or two before moving onto the next step to give the primer time to dry appropriately.
Next I applied the playground blue eye shadow from the middle of the eye to the outer edges of the upper eyelid. Then I cut the crease. If you are like my mom and not sure what ‘cutting the crease’ means, this is a technique of using different colored eye makeup to cut across the eyelid to form a sharp contrast in colors. In this case, I used the P. Louise Acid Reign Cosmetic Paint in Blank. Don’t forget to use your brushes to apply a thin line of playground blue underneath the bottom lashes of the eye.
After I cut the crease, I applied the Cold Snap eye shadow color from the inner eye (closest to the pupil) to the edge of the Playground Blue. Using the eye brushes, blend the colors together to avoid harsh lines making them accompany each other nicely.
Then I went in with the cosmetic glitter and applied it to the inner corner of my eye using the DUO lash glue to keep it in place.
Almost done! Time for mascara to create the long lash look us ladies desire. First I applied Lash Princess, then Voluminous for the finishing touches. Personally, I prefer using Voluminous second as I feel it thickens lashes evenly and smoothly and leaves virtually no flakes, smudges or clumps.
And there you go! This look should only take about 10-15 minutes to create. Have fun!
